Measurement evaluation data can be further processed for automation solutions via integrated switching functions.
1.2. Advantages of Digital Display
The combination of Digital Reader with Length Gauge brings significant efficiency to the production process. This combination provides the ability to measure linear position with stellar accuracy. In addition, Digital Reader displays measurements from the length gauge in real time, helping users easily adjust the length accurately.
-
High accuracy: Digital Reader provides high-precision measurements, displayed in different units of measurement. Especially for industries requiring high precision such as medical, aerospace, automotive, etc., the product provides the most accurate measurement results, without deviations during the measurement process performed with the length gauge.
-
Improve productivity: Integrating Digital Reader with Length Gauge displays measurements in real time, from which users can easily and quickly adjust the production line. Ensures uninterrupted production, minimizes downtime and saves costs.
-
Minimize errors: Value parameters are automatically displayed on the Digital Reader screen, eliminating the need for operators to manually record them, ensuring fewer errors in recording and consistent parameters.
-
Ease of use: The design of Heidenhain's Digital Reader is user-friendly, making it easy for almost anyone to use. In addition, the digital readouts are customizable, allowing you to configure them to meet your specific needs. Users can choose from a variety of features, including different display modes, units of measurement and protocols.

2. Touch probes
2.1. Overview
HEIDENHAIN offers versatile, high-precision touch probes for machine tools, enabling precise, edge-to-edge measurements on parts. With proven durability against wear, impact and integrated blower cleaning
Vision systems from HEIDENHAIN can also be conveniently deployed to monitor tools for even greater process reliability. HEIDENHAIN Touch Probes master the dimensional accuracy of the workpiece quickly and reliably:
-
HEIDENHAIN touch probes enable setup, measurement and inspection functions directly inside the machine tool. When the stylus is deflected when in contact with the workpiece surface, the conversion signal is sent to the controller via cable, radio or infrared transmission, depending on the machine model.
-
HEIDENHAIN tool touch probes enable efficient and reliable tool measurement. Allowing to reduce scrap, reduce rework, shorten machine idle time and increase machining accuracy.
It can be said that HEIDENHAIN touch probes are an indispensable part of the machining and measurement process.
2.2. Advantages of Touch Probes
Using standard precision touch probes in the production process brings the following advantages:
-
Reducing scrap rate: with touch probes, identifying and correcting machining errors in real time significantly reduces the number of parts that need to be removed. This helps save on raw material and labor costs.
-
Quality control: using touch probes to check parts before installation helps ensure stable quality during the production process. This helps to limit defective parts in the final assembly stage, ensuring the best product quality.
-
Improved performance: touch probes automatically measure parts, minimizing manual measurement and saving setup time. Helping the production process to be carried out quickly, thereby improving performance.
-
Highly archivable data: data collected from touch probes is easily recorded and stored, from which it is possible to check which part is faulty and provide solutions when problems occur
