The tightly graded diamond mineral in 3M™ Diamond Lapping Films Series 600X is evenly coated on a polyester film backing, allowing for a long lapping film life and a superior finish over the course of the product's life. The majority of films can be purchased with or without a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) backing.

3M™ Diamond Lapping Films 661X and 668X cut and polish glass fibers and hard ceramic ferrules to the same surface level and at comparable polish rates. In preparation for the final polish, these films are usually used to refine the ferrule surface finish or to give ferrule connectors more radius.
